Summary
Supports in the development of technical calibration procedures and computer data-based functions. Serves as the organization’s technical expert for instrumentation and calibration processes. Assists in the calibration process for quality and verifies proper documentation of the calibrations.
EDUCATION
• Associate degree in related technical area or equivalent military, commercial, or industrial training. (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE
• Spec Metrology Assoc – Additional experience not required.
• Spec Metrology – minimum of 2 years in the Spec Metrology Apprentice Program (Required)
• Spec Metrology Sr – minimum of 5 years in the Spec Metrology Apprentice Program (Required)
• Spec Metrology Staff – minimum of 8 years in the Spec Metrology Apprentice Program (Required)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
• There is no Licensure or Certifications required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops and writes technical calibration procedures and computer data-based functions.
• Determines instrumentation specification requirements. Examines and evaluates laboratory technical processes.
• Provides technical assistance to Laboratory Technicians and customers.
• Communicates with outside agencies to acquire information/ material in support of technical activities.
• Collects and analyzes data to create documents, graphs, charts, tables and/or reports.
• Supports and emphasizes the importance of safety and safety programs.
• Writes technical procedures.
• Verifies computer programs.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to use mathematics to calculate tolerances and interpret calibration results.
• Ability to understand and interpret drawings, schematics and specifications in area of responsibility.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accept ERO position as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
• Accept outage position as needed.
• Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position .
• Procedure Professionals Association Writer Certification (Required)
Environmental & Physical Requirements (Plant)
• Environmental and physical requirements require the ability to don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the defined role; subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30+ lbs; ascending/descending stairs; ascending, descending, traversing ladders, scaffolds, stairs; working in confined spaces; moving safely over uneven or slippery terrain; working in proximity to loud equipment and possible inclement weather/temperature conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
• Work includes the use and handling of toxic chemicals.
• Work is performed on equipment above 600 volts.
WORK LOCATION
• Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
