Alder Energy Systems (AES) is growing too and seeking an enthusiastic Solar Development Associate to join its team. This position offers an opportunity to become a solar policy expert for states across the country and work at the forefront of large-scale renewable energy projects.
Alder Energy Systems is a leading developer and builder of Community Solar projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. The Development Associate will develop solar projects in these regions, through identification of suitable sites and coordination of interconnection, zoning, and permitting activities as well as managing due diligence efforts. This individual will also focus on forging relationships with landowners, community leaders, utilities, environmental organizations, and financiers.
A Solar Development Associate is an authority in qualifying properties for the development of solar farms, including site characteristics, utility infrastructure, and zoning information. Utilizing proprietary tools and satellite technology, this solar site analyst is responsible for targeting and reviewing parcels for suitability and researching landowner information for qualified properties.
Key Responsibilities:
•Analyze properties in target markets using proprietary tools and satellite technology.
•Maintain database of target parcels, utility details, and local/county planning and zoning information.
•Research landowner information and update database accordingly.
•Assist with research into planning and zoning regulations at the local and county levels.
•Deal effectively with all inbound inquiries and represent AES in a professional manner.
•Actively pursue leads/opportunities through outbound calls and in tandem with current marketing campaigns.
•Engage with property owners, community leaders, and environmental organizations to provide information throughout the development process.
•Represent Alder Energy Systems within industry advocacy groups and educate communities on the benefits of solar.
•Build trust and rapport with potential customers during site acquisition process.
•Educate potential customers about solar energy programs.
•Track daily activities and maintain information quality in CRM & Google Drive.
•Maintain knowledge of utility company and regional options.
Qualifications & Requirements:
•A previous successful record of consumer sales experience (preferably phone, retail, or solar sales)
•Excellent communication and customer service skills
•Excellent organizational skills, able to set priorities and respond swiftly to customer requests
•Self-motivated and able to work effectively individually as well as with a team
•Ability to thrive in quickly changing environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
•Must be highly computer literate
•Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SmartSheets, and Zoho, Salesforce or equivalent CRM
•Reside in the Charleston Metro Area and able to work from the AES office
•Ability to meet attendance requirements, primarily working from the company office with reasonable work-from-home allowances
•Ability to do limited overnight business travel
•Knowledge of online property search software such as GIS and Latapult
•Four-year college degree
•All candidates must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check
