The Microsoft Software Engineer supports business needs and facilitates matching business needs to service options. Delivers information technology (IT) services with the support of third-party providers; services include end-user training, assistance with data extractions, reports, interfaces, etc. The Microsoft Software Engineer participates in and/or leads the selection, procurement, and configuration of new cloud or desktop applications. The Microsoft Software Engineer serves as a resource to IT support personnel to address day-to-day operational issues. The Microsoft Software Engineer will participate in budget development and task planning activities with Centrus functional management and staff. This position is located at our American Centrifuge Operations Oak Ridge, TN site.
- Researches and documents cloud service requirements and specifications
- Leads teams of end users and IT staff in the specification and implementation of new cloud services
- Gathers statistics, prepares and writes reports on the status of business projects for discussion with management, team members, and end users
- Works with functional users and the IT support staff to resolve day-to-day operational issues
- Experienced working in both classified and unclassified business environments
- Responds to and resolves cloud application and database access and performance issues
- Documents support requests and resolutions in help desk tracking software
- Develops and maintains user manuals and guidelines
- Recommends, schedules, and performs improvements and upgrades for cloud service and systems
- Assesses and develops long-term strategic goals for cloud services and databases in conjunction with functional end users
- Develops reporting standards and quality assurance policies and procedures
- Implements systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of systems and data
- Develops, implements, and maintains procedures for release & patch upgrade processes
- Creates required reports in response to business user needs
- Performs cloud transaction and security audits
- Establishes appropriate cloud application and database access control levels with input from functional data owners
- Participates on and leads working groups with other Company IT staff for technical architectures and strategies
- Adheres to company policies, procedures, code of conduct, security, and safety programs

We'd Love to Hear from Candidates With:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five (5) years’ experience in developing, implementing and supporting software applications and databases; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance
