Slitter Operator I

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Slitter Operator performs a variety of skilled tasks involved involving the general maintenance and operations processes; basic understanding of equipment and performs related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

- Embraces the 1 T.E.A.M. culture

- Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.

- Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.

- Verification and recording of product identification

- Reconcile coil identity for production and load coil

- Ensuring material is loaded onto lines and fed into production equipment in accordance with all safety policies and quality procedures.

- Responsible for making necessary adjustments to ensure material tracking/stacking.

- Performing in process visual inspection

- Ensuring material is unloaded from lines in accordance with all safety policies and quality procedures.

- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- N/A

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Ability to use computers, read tape measures

- Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs

- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

- Ability to work outside normal business hours/days as needed

- Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company

- Able to read and comprehend simple work instructions, work orders, short correspondence and memos written in English

- Able to write simple correspondence in English

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or equivalent, required

- Industry knowledge and experience, a plus
