Burton Construction, Inc. is a general contractor in business for over 45 years. BCI operates almost exclusively in the Public Works and Federal Contracting arenas. We are seeking a hard-working General Laborer with Carpentry skills for Boise, ID and surrounding areas. $18 to $25 per hour, PLUS health and pension fringe benefits.
This position is to serve various Federal agencies in the Treasure Valley. Current construction projects range from 100K to 8MM. This position would provide support for multiple active construction projects to help ensure timely and safe completion while achieving excellent quality and workmanship. This position will require individuals to be in good physical health and be able and willing to work hard and in all weather conditions. Burton Construction performs a variety of trade skills and the work we do involves the implementation of a wide variety of trade skills including, concrete forming and placing, wood and steel stud framing, installation of wood and HM steel door frames and doors, door hardware, windows, GWB hang and finish, painting, siding, roofing. Applicants who are well versed in carpentry skills and able to quickly learn and advance in their skill set are desired. Some weekly out-of-town travel is required, with accommodations and per diem provided. Employees are almost always brought home for the weekends.
Applicants must be of a positive attitude, able to work well with others in a team environment. Consistently follow directions and perform quality work. The successful candidate will be expected to be self-sufficient and make timely decisions and recommendations to enhance project success. The ideal candidate will also have a well-rounded background in construction with some basic knowledge of all commercial construction trades. Experience in public works or government projects is helpful. This position will require some heavy lifting and climbing of ladders and scaffolding.
