Who We’re Looking For:
The Pallet/Skid Builder at Cascadia Metals is responsible for constructing various-sized pallets and skids to support our material handling needs. This role requires attention to quality and safety, as well as proficiency with power tools and carpentry.
What You’ll Be Doing:
•Build custom-sized pallets and skids according to specifications.
•Use power tools and carpentry skills to construct durable and reliable supports for materials.
•Ensure all pallets and skids meet quality standards and are safe for handling and transportation.
•Inspect completed pallets and skids for structural integrity and compliance with safety standards.
•Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating power tools and handling materials.
•Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and injuries.
•Safely operate forklifts to transport materials and finished pallets/skids within the facility.
•Report low stock levels to the supervisor to ensure continuous production.
•Work closely with the warehouse and operations teams to meet material handling needs.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Proven experience in carpentry or a related field.
•Proficiency with power tools and woodworking techniques.
•Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
•Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
•Basic knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, or carry items up to 25 lbs; occasional heavier lifting may be required with equipment or team assistance
•Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach, and stoop for extended periods during the shift
•Sufficient visual acuity and peripheral vision to safely operate equipment and perform detailed tasks
•Ability to hear and respond to alarms, radio communications, and surrounding warehouse activity
•Comfortable working in a physically active environment, including indoor and outdoor warehouse spaces with some exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather
