Shop Technician Benefits:
•$25+ per hour (Dependent on Qualifications)
•Up to $1,000 quarterly bonus
•$3 per hour night shift differential
Plans, coordinates, and performs basic block shop functions. Responsibilities include:
•Follow and abide by all plant safety policies and guidelines
•Proficient use and understanding of precision measurement instruments such as dial indicators, hand micrometers of various sizes, and digital calipers, among others.
•Set up, operate and maintain caster block carriers
•Perform necessary PM’s on equipment
•Ensure adequate inventories of consumables
•Maintain appropriate logs and records as needed to properly track and maintain equipment status and maintenance record
•Identify technical problems and provide practical solutions appropriate to the size and complexity of projects in shop and on manufacturing equipment in support of overall operation
•Communicate successfully with other members of the department to support a team environment
•Compose & send daily shift reports on all activities performed
Requirements:
•Ability to demonstrate strong proficiency in troubleshooting in shop activities.
•Ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, and multi-task in both slow-pace & fast-paced environments.
•Candidate must have and demonstrate proficient mechanical skills and knowledge.
•Self-starter, requiring little supervision once training is complete, and be self-motivated when not given a specific task.
•Demonstrate ability and excel at safely operating overhead crane, fork trucks, and other mobile equipment.
•Precision-minded and maintain a clean and organized work space
•Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Word, & Excel)
•2+ years experience as a Machinist
•Knowledge of pneumatic cylinders and Human Machine Interface (HMI)
•Proven track record of successfully managing multiple tasks simultaneously
•Position can be physically demanding requiring ability to lift 50 pounds and reach overhead frequently
