Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager or Facility Manager, the Shipper/Receiver plays a key role in managing the accurate and efficient handling of inbound and outbound shipments. This includes regularly loading shipments—often involving repetitive heavy lifting—and operating equipment such as cranes and forklifts. The role also involves inspecting shipments to verify their contents and quality, and may include coordinating freight appointments to ensure timely delivery and receipt.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate timely processing of all shipping and receiving requests, including transport bookings and documentation.

- Safely load, unload, and secure shipments using forklifts, overhead cranes, and hand tools as needed.

- Inspect incoming and outgoing goods for accuracy, damage, and compliance with shipping documents.

- Label, store, and internally deliver received items according to company standards.

- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and SAP ERP updates.

- Support packaging tasks such as cutting wood, painting products, and other duties while adhering to all safety policies.

- Demonstrate 100% commitment to safety and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

- 2–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or stores operations; entry-level candidates may be considered with at least 1 years of relevant experience.

- Strong ability to read and interpret instructions, memos, and basic correspondence; capable of presenting information clearly in small group settings.

- Proficient in computer skills.

- Skilled in solving practical problems and interpreting written, oral, and diagram-based instructions.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills; fluency in English required, French is an asset.

Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working in loud environments, and operating equipment safely; PPE and background/medical checks may be required.

Compensation: CAD 56,000 to 63,000(depending on experience and fit)
