Our location in Sudbury, Ontario has an immediate opening available for an experienced Shipper.
Our commitment to quality, safety, and timely delivery has earned us a trusted reputation in the industrial sector. We’re looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipper to join our logistics team and help manage both domestic and international shipments from our plant.
- Coordinate and execute daily outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, and preparation for transport.
- Prepare and manage all shipping documentation (packing slips, bills of lading, customs declarations, etc.)
- Ensure all international shipments comply with global trade regulations and customer-specific requirements.
- Work closely with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Track and trace shipments and resolve delivery issues or delays as needed.
- Package products according to established standards to ensure safe and damage-free delivery.
- Select and prepare appropriate packaging materials (e.g., crates, pallets, boxes, shrink wrap). Secure large or irregularly-shaped industrial components for shipping, using strapping, bracing, and protective materials.
- Ensure proper identification and labeling of all packaged items, especially for international destinations.
- Maintain inventory of packaging materials and coordinate reorders as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping and packaging area.
- Assist with incoming shipments and receiving activities as needed.
- Record all outgoing shipments in inventory and ERP systems.
- Comply with all company safety procedures and policies.- 2+ years of experience in shipping/receiving within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven experience with international shipping and packaging requirements.
- Familiarity with freight logistics, LTL/FTL carriers, Incoterms, and customs documentation.
- Ability to read and follow packaging specifications and handle large, heavy equipment.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Forklift certification or experience is an asset.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Experience with packaging heavy or oversized goods for international transport.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations (e.g., NAFTA, CUSMA, HS codes).
