The Shift Supervisor is responsible for all material leaving SS&P and managing day to day operations with material handlers & processors. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to organize and manage time to meet deadlines. You are required to manage warehouse personnel and organize daily schedules. You must ensure all material leaving the facility has been loaded, cut, and processed accurately and safely. You are required to manage, along with the Warehouse Manager all shift personnel to perform their required duties.
Management & Leadership: With this position, strong leadership and management skills are required. You will be required to lead daily shift production meetings and assign duties. Motivating warehouse personnel to achieve the most effective use of manpower and equipment is essential. You are required to manage the warehouse productivity and promote a strong teamwork environment for all warehouse employees.

Safety: Everyone’s safety is our top priority at Service Steel & Pipe! You must keep safety as a priority and always follow SS&P safety guidelines and policies. Ensure employees are provided with and consistently use approved safety equipment. Direct employees to have safe working practices and working environment.
Order distribution: You are required to collect and distribute orders from the office to the appropriate material handlers as they become complete in a timely manner.
Loading & pulling orders: You are required to train and manage all warehouse personnel by accurately pulling, filing, packing and setting up orders for delivery or pickup. This includes on-site will-call customer orders as well as daily truck deliveries.
Shipping and loading operation: You must organize shipment priorities such as daily will-calls, company fleet trucks, commercial carriers and stage the orders for ease of loading and verification. This will require you to manage the logistics of all material (location, flow of goods) to ensure proper storage and avoid congestion.
Accuracy: Loading accuracy is extremely important. You are required to ensure all material leaving the facility has been loaded, cut, and processed accurately and double checked for accuracy. A priority must be placed on order loading accuracy, safety and eliminating and mistakes.
Observation: You will need to conduct monthly safety & yard inspections, document findings & observations, and distribute them to appropriate management and personnel.
Communication: You are required to maintain open communications with other departments, managers, and other company personnel.
Moving & handling material: Safety must be top of mind during all material handling. You are required to safely handle all metal products with cranes & forklifts from trucks and stocking areas.
Recording processing: Completing and filling out paperwork accurately
Reliability: You are required to be at Service Steel & Pipe during the correct working hours and ensure that all functions of your responsibilities are satisfied each day. On occasion, this may require longer hours or weekend attendance.
