Setup Technician

We are looking for a trainable setup technician. They will be dedicated to learning how to and properly setting up our mechanical pressess. The ability to set clearances with feeler gauges and use other advanced measuring tools is required. You’ll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. A technician is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is best way to train on how to do the job, so you should have willingness to learn and improve but there is also an advanced mechanical aptitude with a minimum score required before we will consider a candidate for interview. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that set up procedures will be carried on smoothly, consistently in order to maximize efficiency.

Pay

Base pay starts in a range of $17.50 - $18.50 / hour (based on previous experience) and bumps to $19.50 at the end of a short probation. You are also eligible for a DAY ONE production bonus that is paid quarterly.

Responsibilities

- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle

- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed) in order to ensure the parts are correct before handing it off to an operator

- Inspect setup and parts with precision and measuring tools

- Troubleshoot the operation of machines periodically

- Fix issues that might occur during the shift

- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws

- Keep records of set ups so we can track efficiency

- Be willing to run machines as an operator in the event that we don't need to set any of them up

Skills

- Proven experience with demonstrable high mechincal aptitude

- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)

- Understanding of production procedures

- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)

- Ability to read operations manuals with complex instructions, job sheets with technical data

- Analytical skills

- Attention to detail

- Teamwork and communication skills

- Physical stamina and strength

- High school diploma at a minimum; technical degree in a relevant field is a plus

Pay: From $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
