We are actively seeking a Service Manager in our Columbus, OH area.
The Service Manager will supervise service coordinator(s) and service technician(s); manage billing and AR; evaluate performance, collect data and provide feedback to management; effectively communicate with management on ongoing service issues; manage service meetings; building maintenance; provide high level of customer service; and possess electric and HVAC knowledge and/or experience.
Position Responsibilities of the Service Manager:
•Manage the service staff consisting of service coordinator(s) and service technician(s).
•Manage service teams’ PTO requests and communicate with management and/or HR when applicable circumstances arise.
•Coordinate with operations management to effectively backfill any downtime.
•Manage service technicians’ on-call schedule and serve as back-up contact for emergency calls.
•Ensure all service files are maintained up to date and are organized.
•Utilize GPS system to coordinate with service coordinator and improve response time.
•Interview and train new service team members (service coordinators and service technicians).
•Assist service coordinator(s) with workload and diagnosing service issues.
•Manage the service billing and attend AR meetings; Service Manager will serve as point-of-contact with builders for any outstanding invoices.
•Maintain warranty records to ensure everything is current and up-to-date
•Estimate and/or work with estimating team to provide pricing for service work.
•Ensure service coordinator(s) are promptly responding to service requests and allocating sufficient time for all service work.
•Manage the service teams’ schedules and ensure they are assigned a full day of work.
•Review and submit service teams’ time sheets; ensure service technicians are correctly allocating their time to the proper job numbers.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications of the Service Manager:
•5-7 years proven prior experience with HVAC and/or Electrical installations
•Strong working knowledge in Heating and Air Conditioning or residential mechanical services to include design, fabrication, maintenance and installation
•Strong working knowledge of Electrical Residential Services
•Able to lift, stand, bend, push and pull for extended periods of time
•Must adhere to complete pre-employment screening process
•High School Diploma or Equivalent
Physical Requirements
•Must be able to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting
•Must be able to speak English and hear to communicate
•Must be able to use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools
•Must be able to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.
•Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding (using the appropriate fall protection requirements)
•Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE
•Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, gloves and safety toe, construction-grade work boots
