We’re seeking a Senior Water / Wastewater Engineer who has a strong technical understanding of multiple water and wastewater treatment processes and can lead overall process design for facilities.
- Translate customer requirements into functional system designs.
- Review pre-construction design and documentation.
- Support the sales team by assisting with technical design, estimating hours, and highlighting logistical challenges.
- Generate functional system descriptions and diagrams.
- Provide ongoing engineering support.
- Perform system calculations from preliminary to final design.
- Provide markups for plans and lead cost estimates.
- Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines, subconsultants, clients, and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- Manage and maintain project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope.
- Assist in proposal development, scopes of work, and fee schedule preparation.
- Mentor junior staff with technical and professional development.
- Review and approve final design of projects.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, environmental or other related field). Master’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in water and wastewater treatment industry - 5+ years in water quality analysis, treatment evaluations, process design, and regulatory compliance assessments.- Licensed Professional Engineer preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of water and wastewater treatment technologies
- Experience with general construction, utilities, and/or water and wastewater treatment plants preferred
- Ability to read and understand civil, mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings.
- Ability to create process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Proficient with MS Office products and other standard software packages.
- Proficient with CAD and other design software platforms.
Location: This is a remote-based position that requires occasional travel to sites in the Inter-Mountain Western U.S. region plus the State of Texas.
