Job Location: 3000 N. Sam Houston Parkway East, Houston, TX 77032
Responsibilities include: Performs maintenance, preventive and repairs, on Acoustic downhole tools, inter tool cables and surface control modules. Performs maintenance on wireline resistivity, nuclear, acoustical, imaging, magnetic resonance, formation tester downhole tools, both electronics and mechanics sections. Conducts Tap Root analysis of equipment and downhole tools failures and setting an action plan to avoid recurrence. Manages acoustic research and development projects (finances, scheduling, technical, risk mitigation) working with Sonic and Ultrasonic Sensors technologies. Creates technical engineering reports on performance of acoustic projects for the oil and gas industry. Utilizes commercial & internally developed software packages to collect and analyze data from newly developed acoustic sensors and transmitters. Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform electronics engineering tasks for the oil and gas industry. Recommend repair or design modifications of electronics components or systems, based on factors such as environment, service, cost, or system capabilities. Plan or develop engineering applications or modifications for electronic properties used in components, products, or systems to improve technical performance. Prepare engineering sketches or specifications for construction, relocation, or installation of equipment, facilities, products, or systems. Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes. Under broad scientist direction, can perform collection, analysis and correlation of data utilizing existing commercial software and may develop new algorithms to help develop unique customer solutions using sonic and or ultrasonic architectures. Proficient as a logging field engineer with specific expertise in Seismic and Acoustic data acquisition. Proficient in troubleshooting wireline logging tools and resolving issues. Prepare detailed project plans to manage medium complexity wireline projects. Resolve critical project related issues and communicates effectively with key representatives and stakeholders.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Tech Prof- Systems Eng, Sr-related occupation.
