Salary Range: $156,000 to $180,000

We do this while minimizing operational and financial impact.


ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior System Administrator plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing IT infrastructure to support organizational growth and innovation. This position focuses on the design, deployment, administration, and maintenance of cutting-edge cloud, on-premises, and hybrid systems, while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. Collaboration, leadership, and adaptability are key in driving technological excellence and aligning IT strategies with business goals.

Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable systems, including cloud environments like Azure and AWS, as well as on-premises servers and networks.
System Administration: Manage Active Directory, Windows Server environments (2016+), Office365/Exchange, and SaaS Applications.
Security & Compliance: Monitor and enhance cyber security measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations such as SOX or GDPR.
Automation: Develop automation scripts using tools like PowerShell or Python to streamline system maintenance and deployments.
Disaster Recovery: Collaborate with IT Leadership to design and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor systems, troubleshoot issues and apply patches or updates to maximize performance and minimize downtime.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems, processes, and policies.
Software Licensing: Ensure compliance with software licensing across all applications.
Emerging Technologies: Research and integrate innovative solutions to address evolving business needs and improve IT operations.
Policies & Procedures: Maintain departmental policies related to daily operations, ensuring adherence to best practices.
Team Collaboration: Lead and mentor junior system administrators, sharing knowledge to foster professional growth and drive team success.
Other Duties: Perform additional tasks and projects as required to support organizational goals.

Knowledge: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review).

Job Complexity: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.

Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).


ABOUT YOU

Technical Expertise: Expertise in Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Office365, Windows Server, networking protocols, and security best practices.
Security: Extensive knowledge of data and network security and experience securing corporate networks.
Scripting & Automation: Intermediate skills in PowerShell, Python or other automation tools.
Networking Devices: Strong understanding of routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking components.
Certifications: Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE, Azure Administration, Microsoft 365 Certified) and other relevant industry certifications like ITIL, AWS, CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+ or VMware are preferred.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, coupled with a proactive mindset.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer focused approach and a positive attitude.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments, responding effectively to changing priorities
Strong background in IT security, networking, and infrastructure management.
Proven ability to lead IT projects and mentor junior staff.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Master’s degree or advanced certifications are a plus.

Experience: 10+ years in system administration, with hands-on experience managing enterprise IT environments.5+ years working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and Office365.
