Senior Specialist, Work Management System (WMS) - Integrated Solutions

Overview

The WMS Integrated Solutions Team is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented and eager to learn Senior Specialist to lead testing and support efforts for the Electric Operations Work Management Suite of Applications. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and performance across WMS applications (Work Manager, Field Manager, Asset Manager, and Scheduler). Additionally, the Senior Specialist will interact with different business users and IT professionals to analyze requirements for system enhancements, perform configuration in the system, and develop and maintain system requirements. This role will also provide an exciting opportunity to learn the latest CGI work management products and develop strong relationships with various groups within Electric Operations.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

- Test entire suite of WMS applications for potential defects and any performance issues and document results in the Azure DevOps application

- Provide support to business users with all WMS Applications (Work Manager, OpenGrid Work & Asset, Field Manager, Asset Manager, Scheduler and the OBIEE Oracle reporting suite) and associated technologies used to support the Company's WMS Infrastructure. This includes visiting various workout locations to provide in-person support as needed

- Provide timely and effective resolution for incoming support tickets, resolving issues, and troubleshooting technical problems reported by users. Document findings in the lessons learned repository.

- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through timely and clear communication, efficient problem-solving, and diligent follow-up.

- Collaborate with various IT teams and external vendors to escalate complex issues when necessary and contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes and documentation.

- Work with business users to prepare a requirement document and support any testing, migration and deployment efforts for any enhancements and product upgrades

- Design, implement and maintain configuration settings in all WMS environments; Make sure that all configuration settings are properly migrated through all required environment and migration IDs are created

- Manage and coordinate system defect resolutions through internal Azure DevOps system and external CGI JIRA ticket system

- Review software interfaces and make recommendations in the performance improvements

- Lead and manage Business Application configuration projects and support the configuration management change process.

- Implement and maintain system requirements and work to ensure core product user functionality is included in the system design.

- Coordinate and lead all forms of functional testing for the Business Application and associated integrations through the software lifecycle.

- Develop comprehensive test plans by analyzing Business/Project requirements and specifications, identifying key test scenarios, and designing appropriate test strategies.

- Perform test execution and thoroughly document test results. Identifying and reporting defects or issues found during testing, providing clear and concise steps to replicate them.

- Track and manage reported issues and defects, ensuring they are properly documented, prioritized and resolved.

- Develop functional specifications and functional design documentation as needed.

- Support internal teams as needed.

- Clearly articulate WMS system designs, technical issues and concepts to business users, application support and vendors.

- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant work experience is required or

- Associate's Degree and 4 years relevant work experience is required or

- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years work experience is required or

- Master's Degree and 2 years of work experience is required

Relevant Work Experience

- Ability to quickly learn new software and new processes as required for the job using documentation and other available resources Required

- Experience in supporting of Business Software Applications Required

- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills Required

- Strong problem-solving skills, effective time management, and the ability to work independently as well as in team settings Required

- Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Teams); Required

- Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot Preferred

- Experience in executing comprehensive test plans, documenting results using Microsoft Azure DevOps, validate current application functionality and features using standalone applications and virtual machines Preferred

- Knowledge of WMS Applications (Work Manager, Field Manager, Asset Manager and Scheduler) Preferred

- Knowledge of software development lifecycle Preferred

- Experience with change management and software testing lifecycle Preferred
