Rogers Group is currently seeking a Senior Safety and Health Manager that will be responsible for providing support to our Alabama and Georgia SMAs. Must reside in the Huntsville, AL area. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but not limited to:
•Lead and execute comprehensive monthly safety audits across operational sites, identifying areas for improvement and driving corrective action.
•Oversee safety programs and initiatives impacting a workforce of almost 700 employees, ensuring consistent compliance, training, and engagement across all roles and sites.
•Responsible for supervising one team member and supporting their day-to-day responsibilities.
•Update records in safety database and produces statistical analytics as needed.
•Manage the timely processing of all safety-related invoices, regulatory assessments, and compliance documentation.
•Assist with submitting new hire pre-employment information as needed.
•Completes monthly safety and health reports such as but not limited to Injury Incident rate Comparison, MSHA, OSHA and DOT citation experience summary, etc.
•Facilitates and ensures completion of all MSHA and OSHA recordkeeping requirements such as MSHA 2000-7, 7000-1, 7000-2, OSHA 300, 300A, 301, etc.
•Assist with MSHA and OSHA annual refresher training.
•Coordinates annual audiograms.
•Tracks Permissible Exposure and Action Level IH samples for compliance.
•Completes safety sections of pre-qualification questionnaires and provides supporting documentation as requested.
•Complete and submit safety-related surveys and applications to industry organizations such as NSSGA, NIOSH, BLS, and state labor departments.
•Assist other managers and Human Resources to perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree preferred in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
•Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in safety and health management, preferably within mining, construction, or heavy industrial environments.
•In-depth knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, and DOT regulations and best practices.
•Strong organizational and communication skills.
