Job Description:
The Senior Resource Geologist will have accountability for developing estimates and auditing resource models for the Company’s Cripple Creek mine and advanced projects. The individual will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to optimize output from our portfolio of operations and ensure successful development of projects. The Senior Resource Geologist will report to the Geology Manager.
Day to Day:
•Play a key role to improve Orebody knowledge.
•Carry out geologic interpretation and statistical analysis of CC&V property and maintain updated versions of Resource and Short-Term models
•Place emphasis on 3D computer modeling of mineralized zones incorporating geologic controls to facilitate valid estimates of mineral resources.
•Work closely with exploration/resource development and grade control geologists to improve block model representation of geologic controls on mineralization.
•Make recommendations to optimize exploration drill programs such that mineral resource estimates comply with industry norms for classification.
•Support model-mine- reconciliation and use results to drive improvements in Resource Models. Continuously improve model performance through identification of deficiencies in geologic information.
•Assist/contribute to external reporting (e.g. – SK1300 technical reports) as required.
•Manage short term resource development/drilling projects.
Is this you?
•A bachelor or post-graduate degree in Geology with some specialization in geostatistics is preferred.
•Seven to ten years’ experience in gold or polymetallic mineral exploration, geological modeling and mineral resource estimation is required, as well as, demonstrated experience with:
+ Surface exploration planning, drilling, sampling, sample chain of custody, QAQC, and database management, all following CIM Best Practice Guidelines.
+ Geological/geo-metallurgical modelling, geostatistical principles and analysis, mineral resource estimation, resource confidence classification, technical documentation following SEC/CIM Best Practice Guidelines.
+ Advanced knowledge of geological modelling and database packages - Leapfrog preferred, advanced knowledge of other geological modeling packages acceptable.
•Experience or familiarity with mineral reserve estimation, underground and open pit mine production, grade control, ground control, production/development planning and reconciliation is necessary.
•Professional registration for sign-off as a Qualified Person on SK1300 – Technical Report Summaries and NI 43-101 Technical Reports or the ability to obtain it, is required. The individual must be willing and able to travel internationally.
•Demonstrate the ability to be cross-disciplined and work comfortably with other cultures.
•Must be comfortable with working in multi-disciplinary projects (Technical Services team Operational teams and Corporate teams)

Work Environment:
•This role is located in Cripple Creek & Victor (Colorado)
•The schedule for this role is 4 days on/ 3 days off, 10-hour shifts
