· Works Closely With: Senior Site Superintendent, Project Administrators, Project Engineers, Accounting, Procurement, Estimating, and Construction Teams
· Location: Onsite in San Diego, CA (Headquarters)
As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for organizing and managing construction operations for Sustineo’s projects while ensuring successful delivery, budget control, and compliance with contractual obligations for Substantial and Final Completion. You will coordinate across departments to ensure seamless execution and provide technical support to field teams while managing all aspects of project communication, scheduling, and financial tracking.
· Manage Project Administrators, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth execution.
· Develop Scopes of Work, Budgets, and Schedules, ensuring alignment with project goals.
· Oversee all mechanical and electrical work related to solar projects (250 kW – 2.5 MW).
· Coordinate with Accounting, Procurement, Estimating, and Construction to facilitate seamless operations.
· Ensure all paperwork, logistics, and materials match the project scope, budget, and timeline.
· Report directly to executive team on project management activities and progress.
· Work closely with Senior Site Superintendent to manage field operations and ensure high-quality workmanship.
· Lead weekly project meetings, set performance goals, and provide tracking metrics for continuous improvement.
· Oversee project financials for budgets ranging from $500K to $5M.
· Approve billing, subcontractor costs, and material purchases.
· Provide cost-to-complete forecasts and ensure projects remain financially viable.
· Compare estimates vs. actuals to maintain profitability within the Sage 100 Contractor accounting system.
· Define and track Scope of Work for subcontractors and ensure adherence to schedules.
· Coordinate lead times for equipment and ensure subcontractors adhere to safety regulations.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred in construction management or engineering).
· Experience: Minimum 7 years in commercial solar/storage project management.
· Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and risk management.
· Proven ability to manage schedules, budget efficiently, troubleshoot challenges, and motivate teams.
· Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of managing high-pressure situations.
· Expertise in EPC contracts, Scope of Work development, and positive cash flow billing practices.
· Willingness to travel occasionally for project oversight.
· Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar design, electrical & mechanical systems, and energy storage solutions.
· Project Management Tools: Microsoft Office 365 (Planner, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), Gantt Project, Procore
· Solar Design & Engineering: AutoCAD, Helioscope, PV Syst
· Construction & Financial Software: Sage 100 Contractor, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam
· Technical Expertise: Understanding of solar inverters, panel configurations, battery storage, electrical systems, and interconnection processes
· This is an onsite position in San Diego, CA.
