Summary
The Senior Project Manager is a pivotal leader, overseeing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously. This role involves advanced project oversight from bid preparation through final acceptance by the client, ensuring all projects adhere to administrative, technical, and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Oversee the formulation of project objectives, policies, and procedures within the framework of corporate policy.
•Provide strategic direction and oversight across multiple projects, ensuring they are executed on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with quality standards.
•Act as the primary company representative in high-stake project meetings, labor negotiations, and strategic planning sessions.
•Manage the financial aspects of substantial contracts to protect the company’s interests while fostering positive relations with clients.
•Conduct in-depth initial assessments with clients to accurately determine project scopes, resource requirements, and success criteria.
•Prepare detailed project estimates and oversee the development of budgets, schedules, and plans for complex, multi-faceted projects.
•Supervise senior project staff and provide leadership and direction to project teams, including on-site superintendents, engineers, and administrative personnel.
•Ensure robust project control, risk management, and compliance with safety regulations across all sites.
•Resolve complex technical and management issues that affect the company's position and performance on projects.
•Mentor and develop project managers and staff, enhancing their capabilities in construction management and leadership.
Supervisory Responsibilities
•Directly supervise a team of project managers and up to 10 supervisors with crews potentially exceeding 100 members.
Requirements
•Proven ability to lead large teams and manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
•Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, capable of making high-stakes decisions.
•Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required; Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
•At least eight to ten years of experience in construction management, with significant leadership experience in managing large-scale, multi-project operations.
•Extensive knowledge of construction processes, including planning, design, procurement, and execution.
