We are seeking an experienced professional to support capital efforts and roadmap our data centers in a part-time, contract role. This position is focused on planning, documenting, and facilitating data center infrastructure projects, ensuring that all designs comply with industry standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers, architects, and senior leadership to create actionable plans while effectively communicating technical details to non-technical stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to large-scale data center builds while working within a flexible schedule.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive roadmaps for data center infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and senior leadership to translate technical details into high-level, actionable plans.
- Document and organize all data center plans, upgrades, and future requirements.
- Ensure all designs and plans comply with NEC, NFPA, and industry standards.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Forecast project needs, budgets, and timelines for large, complex data center builds.
- Strong understanding of physical data center requirements: power loads, hot/cold aisle containment, grounding, bonding, and thermal management.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio; working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (required).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in data center design, build, or physical infrastructure.
- Proven experience with large, complicated data center projects.
- Must be based in Minnesota and able to commute to the office three days per week (Tues/Wed/Thurs).
