Job Description

Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team and support large-scale TI and ground-up construction projects for key clients in the Sacramento, California area.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter, capable of taking initiative and driving activities with minimal supervision.


Responsibilities

Lead and manage stakeholders including architects, engineers, and supply chain to deliver compliant projects.
Analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
Ensure effective project governance, processes, and systems are utilized.
Apply best practices on all projects.
Produce formal project status reports and other reports as required.
Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are being applied correctly.
Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
Forecast and update key project milestones.
Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria.
Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors, and regional stakeholders.
Rapidly respond to RFIs from the field.
Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required.
Independently review status reports, drawing submittals, timelines, and costs from architects, contractors, and suppliers.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.
Provide strategic advice to project teams on approaches to successfully achieve both clients’ objectives and business objectives.
Ensure key information and learnings generated from each project are captured.
Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.
Identify business development opportunities with both existing and new clients, including potential cross-selling opportunities.
SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field, and PMP certification.
Membership in relevant professional organizations.
A minimum of 5-7 years of construction project management experience.
Experience in Commercial Tenant Improvement (TI) / Healthcare sectors is preferred.
Ability and willingness to work in our San Francisco office and onsite as needed.
Experienced in managing demanding stakeholders and work stream managers.
Strong organizational and management skills – ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team.
Effective presentation skills.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, and construction project management tools.
Strong communication skills.
Experience managing US construction projects is required.
Experience managing construction projects in California is strongly preferred.


Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is $140K-$170K per year depending on experience. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package.  Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
