Miller Electric Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Aviation, with a pathway to becoming the Director of Aviation. This position demands a leader with the ability to build strong relationships, both in and out of the office, while focusing on regional airport remediation projects. Essential Job Functions:
•Adhere to and enhance company, client, and project procedures.
•Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, work plans, and resource allocation.
•Oversee on-site supervision, ensuring alignment with design, budget, and schedule requirements.
•Engage with customers to meet and exceed their expectations throughout all project phases.
•Coordinate activities of company staff, subcontractors, and stakeholders for optimal project outcomes.
•Handle complex project billing and collections with precision.
•Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and resolve any issues.
•Ensure timely procurement of materials and effective vendor coordination.
•Foster relationships that exceed client and team expectations.
•Provide innovative solutions and drive process improvements.
•Deliver feedback and detailed reports to the business unit VP or Director.
•Focus on financial forecasting and strategic planning in project reviews.
•Mentor and guide project team members, including junior staff, for professional development.
•Continuously expand skills and update knowledge to boost team innovation.
•Lead job site safety to ensure compliance with industry safety standards.
•Actively participate in industry and community activities.
•Prepare and manage Change Management Forms and Procedures (MOPs).
Aviation-Specific Responsibilities:
•Navigate and manage shift schedules, including occasional night work.
•Cultivate strong relationships with airlines, consulting firms, and airport authorities.
•Lead and manage projects in major and regional airports, with a strong understanding of badging processes.
•Ability to pass a 10-year background check and obtain a SIDA badge when necessary.
•Coordinate material delivery effectively and maintain robust vendor relations.
•Develop strong connections with IBEW local Unions nationwide.
•Understand and manage TechOps and facilities maintenance for airline operations.
•Promote organic growth by collaborating with various branches and maintaining project oversight.
Education & Experience:
Required
•Significant experience in electrical contracting project management.
•In-depth knowledge of electrical installations and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
•Strong computer, organizational, and leadership skills.
•Proficiency in computer-based estimating and other project management software.
•Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
•Comprehensive understanding of billing and collections processes.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team leader.
•Obtain 30 Hour OSHA Certification within the first year.
Preferred
•College degree, journeyman’s license, or master electrician’s license.
•Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, and on-screen takeoff.
