The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring a Senior Process Safety Engineer on a permanent basis on our Process Safety team in Regina, SK.

What you’ll do:
•Lead the sustainment and continual improvement of CRC’s Incident and Investigation Management program in support of our PSM and Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) performance, ensuring our program meets corporate goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
•Collaborate closely with other Health, Safety, and Environment teammates, Technical Services, Major Projects, Process Operations, and Maintenance teams to ensure response, reporting, investigation, and communication of events and near misses is timely, thorough, and incorporates human and operational performance principles.
•Training (and maintenance) of self as a lead investigator, including demonstrated competencies in various root cause methodologies.
•Prepare and guide the development and communication of lessons learned from internal and external events.
•Support collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of incident metrics to the business and external organizations.
•Analyze incident trends including causation factors and recommendation effectiveness.
•Actively participate and support other PSM programs such as process hazard analysis, process safety information, management of change, pre-start-up safety reviews, and procedural compliance. Participate in and support other OEMS elements such as Emergency and Security Management and Regulatory Compliance.
•Plan and conduct OEMS and PSM audits, assurance reviews, and self-verifications. Identify program gaps, evaluate effectiveness, and develop improvement plans that reduce operational risk.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in process safety engineering and:
•Have 8+ years in industrial operations, process, maintenance, or engineering design, preferably in upgrading, refining, or petrochemical operations.
•Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and are a registered P.Eng (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
•Are experienced with the development, implementation, and continual improvement efforts of Process Safety and Operational Excellence Management Systems, particularly incident investigation and analysis.
•Have demonstrated incident investigation capabilities and are proficient with various root cause analysis methods.
