Complete/manage chemical engineering projects related to the company's chlorine dioxide solutions . Customer meetings and 0n-site meetings/reviews (travel) to develop/specify application needs for new projects. Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), mass and energy balances, design basis and Plant Layout and perform process calculations. Completing Feasibility, conceptual, Design and Detail Engineering. Providing Start Up Support, system and Process Validation – IQ protocol (Installation Qualification ), OQ Protocol (operational Qualification) PQ Protocol (Performance qualification) Writing. Execution and preparation of summary reports for customers or internally research work. Finding solutions to sophisticated chemical engineering problems. Completing projects within a budget to meet commercialization goals in manufacturing the company products and the development of new products.
Completing hands-on chemical engineering project related to the company’s chlorine dioxide solutions to improve the quality of water supplies. This includes working internally on company systems and externally on customer projects. Designing, testing, and preparing existing and new products. Demonstrating a solid engineering understanding of pumps, rotational equipment, and piping as well as material movement. Working with process control teams. Ensuring safety performance. Improving material utilization, focusing on existing products or processes, routinely coordinating work with other specialists and executive groups to facilitate engineering and manufacturing projects. Reviewing new designs or applications, including applying standard engineering techniques involving innovations of methodology to provide solutions to problems. Providing Project Management (Cost, Quality and Schedule). Working directly with manufacturing and R&D teams to review and test systems/products/projects as they are proceeding.
Requirements: Must have a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, related or equivalent and five years of Progressive post-baccalaureate experience in process engineering, including working with pumps, tanks, rotational equipment, piping, heat exchangers and material movement. Domestic travel required 4-6 days per month. International travel required up to 2 times per year. A good mix of manufacturing and hands-on troubleshooting experience of mechanical, piping, chemical and/or electrical control systems. Good working knowledge of tools and general manufacturing processes is essential.
