Job Summary
Lead complex protection and controls projects from a technical and project management standpoint. Responsible for customer relations and project oversight for the projects assigned to them by the P&C Area Supervisor.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Act as a single point of contact with the customer’s representatives as necessary to maintain project schedule.
- Assist with job cost estimates and proposals.
- Create and maintain project schedule.
- Planning and coordination of the daily, weekly and monthly activities being performed at assigned project.
- Become familiar with all applicable policies and procedures and make sure that information is effectively communicated to all team members working on a project.
- Attend project safety and planning meetings as required.
- Review financial health of assigned projects and track project costs.
- Communicate potential schedule or cost overruns to the Area Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Assist with development or provide justification for change orders as necessary.
- Constantly explore new business opportunities with assigned customers.
- Identify safety hazards associated with the project and develop a task-hazard-mitigation analysis.
- Identify human performance risks and develop a task-risk-mitigation analysis.
- Supervise, mentor, and train less experienced team members.
- Provide feedback to Area Supervisors on performance reviews and assessments.
- Review project timesheets and expense reports prior to being submitted to customers for approval.
- Become familiar with all Premier Power policies and procedures and ensuring that team members assigned to their projects are adhering to them.
- Provide technical support and assistance for Team members as needed.
- Foster teamwork by encouraging cross training leveraging the strengths of team members on their projects.

- Able to provide evidence of leading the successful execution of numerous P&C commissioning projects.
- Strong understanding of protection relay schemes, P&C commissioning procedures, and relay testing.
- Ability to use a variety of relay test sets and automated relay testing software.
- Strong understanding of network communications including TCP/IP, DNP, Modbus, and media structures such as Ethernet and Serial over copper, fiber optics, telephone or wireless systems, and powerline carrier systems.
- Familiar with construction and apparatus testing standards and procedures.
- Strong understanding of NERC Standards and CIP policies and procedures and required compliance documentation.
- Must have strong PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong working knowledge with common electrical industry software applications from industry manufacturers such as SEL, GE, Cooper, Novatech, ABB, Siemens, etc.
- Must show the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with customers and other team members.
- Demonstrates organizational skills to include on time reporting of time and expenses, weekly status reports, and any other documentation and reporting requirements.
- Experienced in developing detailed commissioning test plans.
- Demonstrates the responsibility required to maintain a professional appearance as well as keeping tools, test equipment, and vehicles in clean and organized condition and up to date with service and calibrations.
- Must be organized and have excellent attention to detail.
- Work within energized and de-energized medium and high voltage electrical substations and control houses.
- Must be able to work occasional overtime including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Must be able to travel on overnight, multi-day, out-of-town projects.
- Must be available to take calls and provide technical advice outside of the normal workday.
- Standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, and grasping are all required.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology or similar.
- OR associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology or similar with 3 years P&C substation commissioning or related experience.
- OR equivalent military training e.g., Army Prime Power or Naval Nuclear Power fields with 3 years P&C substation commissioning or related experience.
- OR NETA III with 3 years P&C substation commissioning or related experience.
- OR 5 years of P&C substation commissioning or related experience,
- OR 8 years NETA relay acceptance or maintenance testing experience.
- Ability to achieve NETA level III or IV within 12 months.
- Project management experience and be able to support management in the planning, scheduling, execution, and cost management of field projects.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and motor vehicle check.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, as well as periodic, unannounced random testing.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to obtain a company paid OSHA 10 hour, NFPA 70-E and, CPR training.
