BlueLion LLC is a Human Resources consulting company based in New England. We focus on providing HR support to clients both on-site and remotely. We do business with many different industries, but we specialize in blue collar.
We currently have 18 Pride members (14 HR Professionals, 4 Internal Support Members). Our team all works remotely and are located in NH, MA, and ME. We are growing rapidly and are looking for skilled Payroll Specialist to add to our team and to continue to grow with our business.

We are looking to hire a full-time Payroll Specialist to add to our growing Pride.
Job Duties Could Include:
•Serve as a subject matter expert for payroll systems and tools.
•Train internal team members and client contacts on system functionality and optimized payroll practices.
•Support and lead payroll processing across multiple payroll platforms (e.g., Paylocity, UKG, Paycom, Gusto, etc.).
•Analyze and optimize payroll workflows to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
•Support implementation of new clients for payroll, including system setup and testing.
•Identify and troubleshoot process inefficiencies; recommend and implement improvements.
•Perform payroll system migrations and process optimizations.
•Provide advanced support for payroll discrepancies, audits, and escalated inquiries.
•Manage complex payroll situations, including multi-state taxes, off-cycle runs, garnishments, and corrections.
•Calculate wages, salaries, deductions, and reimbursements.
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
•Collect and verify timekeeping information from employees.
•Address discrepancies in timesheets and attendance records.
•Maintain accurate records of hours worked, overtime, and leave.
•Apply appropriate deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
•Manage garnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions.
•Ensure proper calculation and reporting of payroll taxes.
•Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.
•Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees.
•Educate employees on how to interpret their pay stubs and tax forms.
•Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy.
•Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve issues.
•Work with external auditors and provide necessary payroll information.
Skills and Qualifications:
•Payroll Processing (MINIMUM 5 years of experience)
•Experience in multiple payroll platforms
•Ability to lead client onboarding, payroll system migrations, and process rollouts
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a process improvement mindset
•Experience supporting compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
•Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
•Maintain a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail
•Ability to travel within New England (ME, MA, NH, VT)

•Adaptable - we work with multiple clients and multiple systems. No two clients are the same, and the ability to maneuver through different systems is important.
•Team Oriented - we do a lot, and nobody can be good at everything, so you need to be able to ask for help when you need it and reach out to team members when you need support on something you may not be familiar with.
