BASIC FUNCTION
The Senior Operator will be responsible for site competency and training programs. The successful candidate must be trained in all posts to provide Shift Lead vacation coverage and to support the facility during upset conditions. This position plays a key role in supporting (MOC) Management of Change project work and special projects on-site.

PRINCIPAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of IPC's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Must ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility.
•Ensures the safety of the work environment for all employees.
•Follow (SOP) standard operating procedures, including reviews and improvements to existing (SOP’s). Develop (SOP’s) if required and participate in scheduled audits.
•Is actively and responsibly involved in the Facility Competency Training program.
•Has a full and comprehensive understanding of all the process and safety systems to control the facilities in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
•Responsible for managing site competency program and updating of training program when required.
•Trained and available to work all units if required for coverage and upset conditions.
•Provide vacation and sick time coverage for the Shift Lead
•Support Engineering in scoping and implementation of (MOC’s)
•Support Maintenance Manager with Turnaround stewardship and planning
•Day shift position but may be required to work nights for coverage.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
•2nd Class ABSA Power Engineering Certificate minimum requirement
•Minimum of 10 years of operating experience with minimum 3 years in a leadership role in SAGD
•High school diploma or equivalent
•A valid class 5 driver's license
•A consist and positive attitude, highly motivated and seeks continuous improvement.
•Strong computer and organizational skills, mechanical aptitude, and strong troubleshooting skills.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The remote location of the facility requires camp based accommodations working a 10x10 rotating schedule, 12-hours per shift (including weekends and holidays). The facility is located approximately 35km North/West of Wandering River, AB. and 240kms NE of Edmonton, AB.
