Summary

Spire is seeking a Senior Middleware Automation Engineer to oversee Spire’s evolution in the automation journey. This role will be primarily responsible for providing oversight and guidance within a team of automation developers to support data flow, performance, middleware development, and automation improvements for the application suite of products that enable critical business processes.


Duties and Responsibilities

Support integration and automation within stream of core applications, including Customer Care & Billing, E-Business Suite, Fusion middleware, Maximo, Click and other third-party applications.

Provide technical oversight for development teams and business users, and enables end to end business processes with workload automation.
Respond to triage production issues, related to integrations or scheduling operations and follow Service Level Agreement.
Oversee and influence built-in quality, partnering with Quality Assurance, as it pertains to unit/developer testing.
Fully imbedded in development team, and participates with Quality Assurance, as it pertains to unit/developer testing criteria that is clear, precise, and testable.
Accept work into the team backlog and own the commitment related to what has been laid out to be completed each PI.
Accountable for development and updating of technical documentation, adhering to standards of development practices.
Effectively collaborate within specific team, as well as across agile teams to ensure alignment in dependencies, and impact of team’s work.
Identify and create efficiencies within existing end to end business processes and current batch operations.
Responsible for monitoring performance issues, identifying and executing on long-term solutions to improve automation.


Essential Characteristics and Competencies


Supervisory Responsibilities


Required Education (certifications, licenses)

Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related technical discipline), or foreign equivalent.


Required knowledge, skill and abilities

7 years of relevant work experience.

7 years of experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g.
7 years of experience with any combination of the following: Oracle Middleware, BPEL, WebLogic Server, ADF or Automated schedulers.
5 years of experience design and development of SOAP and/or REST based APIs.
5 years of experience and expert knowledge of structured and object-oriented programming, relational database design, operating systems, networking concepts, and systems integration.
1 year of experience in Hana Cloud Platform development and integration


Physical demands, environment and schedule

Position allows for telecommuting 3 days per week within a reasonable commuting distance of the reporting office in St. Louis, Missouri.

Position requires domestic travel up to 5% of work schedule.
