- Own the daily P&L reporting process, including validation, attribution, and commentary for front office and finance stakeholders
- Enter and update trades in the Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM) system across various commodity groups and asset classes, including but not limited to Crude Oil, Refined Products, Agricultural Products, Metals, FX, and Equities
- Perform daily trade validation and position reconciliation between front office systems (e.g., ETRM) and internal records; work closely with front office, risk, operations, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain and update the ETRM system, including book structures, instrument setup, and reference data management
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including reserve calculations, valuation adjustments, and coordination with the accounting team
- Respond to ad hoc requests and provide market analysis and insights to traders and other stakeholders
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation of recurring tasks using Excel, VBA, Python, or Power BI
- Monitor and escalate significant exposure, pricing, or valuation discrepancies impacting risk or P&L
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in a commodities middle office role, with a focus on P&L calculation, exposure analysis, and trade support
- Strong knowledge of physical oil markets, including common industry terminology, contracts, and pricing conventions
- Solid understanding of physical commodities trading and global market dynamics
- Familiarity with hedging strategies and derivative instruments such as futures, options, and swaps
- Hands-on experience with Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM) systems and a clear understanding of trade flow processes
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; must be comfortable working with large datasets and using functions such as pivot tables, lookups, and nested formulas. VBA/SQL/Python experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with front office, operations, accounting, and other internal stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
