About This Job

SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN TECHNOLOGIST

Nordic Minesteel Technologies (NMT) is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Technologist to join our engineering team. You'll play a key role in developing practical, cost-effective mechanical system designs, supporting both internal and external customers, and contributing to the successful delivery of custom-built systems.

Key Responsibilities

•

Develop mechanical design solutions based on sound engineering practices and project requirements

•

Create and revise 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks

•

Specify appropriate components to meet design and performance specifications

•

Conduct engineering calculations to support mechanical design work

•

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet all regulatory and customer requirements

•

Support the assembly and commissioning of custom systems both in-house and at customer sites

•

Provide ongoing technical support to shop floor teams and customers

•

Maintain organized design documentation and follow company standards for file management

•

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality procedures

•

Adapt to changing project needs and take initiative to solve technical challenges

What We're Looking For

•

Diploma in Mechnical Engineering Technology or equivalent

•

Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design within a multidisciplinary environment

•

Strong knowledge of mechanical components, fabrication, and manufacturing practices

•

Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite

•

Solid understanding of detailing standards and documentation best practices

•

Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

•

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team

•

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

•

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

•

Valid driver's license

•

Willingness to travel occasionally for onsite commissioning

•

Able to wear personal protective equipment as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00-$38.00 per hour
