POSITION OVERVIEW
TransGrid Energy is seeking an ambitious and passionate Director / Senior Manager of Interconnection who will play a crucial role in leading the company through the necessary transmission and interconnection processes of utilities and ISOs. This position requires a detail oriented professional who can manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Manage the transmission / interconnection process including the selection and management of interconnection consultants.
•Advise development team on project’s siting by reviewing and approving necessary transmission planning studies.
•Manage the development of required modeling packages for interconnection applications / modifications for various ISOs.
•Act as a liaison with various ISOs and manage the interconnection process.
•Lead and supervise consultants to perform interconnection related studies.
•Supervise the development of necessary documents to participate in capacity markets with solid understanding of capacity market rules and assist in decision making in capacity auction related market activities in various ISOs.
•Participate in meetings related to regional planning to track and understand transmission / generation changes driven by regional reliability or public policies in various ISOs.
•Lead in various pre-operational activities such as registration as market participants in related ISOs, NERC, and asset registration to advance projects’ targeted COD.
•Provide support to project teams to review commissioning and testing plans and coordinate ISO / RTO testing requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•10+ years of utility-scale energy project development, with a strong preference for BESS or utility-scale renewables.
•Proven experience managing project teams and driving interconnection efforts.
•Deep understanding of ISO / RTO and vertically integrated utility tariffs, interconnection processes, transmission service processes, transmission planning, and late-stage resource implementation processes.
•Experience sourcing auxiliary power suppliers, negotiating tariff agreements, and providing schedule parameters to the project teams.
•Ability to provide summaries of interconnection processes, results, milestones, risks, and statuses for both technical and non-technical audiences.
•Ability to lead and negotiate new Interconnection Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, Independent Engineering Reports, and Financing Documents as well as develop the strategy and schedule parameters to modify existing agreements
•Experience developing and managing relationships with utilities, third-party consultants, ISOs / RTOs, and regulation authorities.
•Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, lean team environment.
•Ability to manage multiple projects/work streams, set priorities, and exercise independent judgment.
•Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
WORK AUTHORIZATION
