Overview:
Kadant is seeking a highly motivated, experienced technical tax professional to join its corporate tax team in the role of Senior Manager, Domestic Tax. This will be a high-impact role reporting to the Director of Global Taxes. The position will oversee the day-to-day operations of domestic taxes, including supervision of a Senior Tax Analyst, overseeing the quarterly and year-end global tax provisions and U.S. tax compliance. This individual will also assist in tax planning, special assignments, and other projects as assigned. Currently the Company has a hybrid work schedule policy consisting of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. It is required that the candidate works in the office 5 days a week for the first 2 months.
Responsibilities:
•Manage and assist with preparation of the quarterly and year-end global tax provisions (ASC 740) and interacting with outside tax advisors and auditors
•Preparation of the quarterly and year-end uncertain tax position (Fin 48) calculations
•Manage and assist with preparation of the U.S. federal and state tax compliance
•Manage and assist with all federal and state tax audits and notices
•Identify, research and present tax planning strategies
•Assist with the development and execution of detailed step plans for reorganizations and restructurings
•Assist with the structuring and due diligence with respect to potential acquisitions
•Manage the domestic tax integration of acquired entities
•Develop strong relationships with domestic controllers and tax advisors
•Identify, evaluate and advise management on the tax consequences of federal and state legislative developments
•Assist domestic subsidiaries with sales and use tax and payroll technical questions
•Maintain and enhance effective internal tax controls
Qualifications:
•10+ years of total tax experience in a large corporate tax environment, which may be in industry, Big 4, or combination.
•Extensive knowledge of ASC 740
•Extensive knowledge of corporate tax law, both federal and state
•Knowledge of the tax impact related to structuring mergers and acquisitions
•Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead teams and projects
•Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to research complex issues
•Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, multi-task and work under tight deadlines
•Excellent communication skills (oral/written) and interpersonal skills
•Ability to build effective working relationships with all levels of the business
•Excellent technology skills
•Knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision a plus

•Degree in Accounting or Finance
