Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation’s largest municipally owned utilities in terms of the number of customers served. Seattle City Light is replacing its current meter system with new advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). The Transmission & Distribution Division of Seattle City Light is recruiting for a Senior Management Systems Analyst to join the AMI Operations team. This position, working under the direct supervision of the AMI Operations Lead, will support the monitoring and operations of the metering network, infrastructure, and supported-end devices. Assisting credit collections to determine cause and resolution of remote connectivity issues

This position will report to the AMI Operations Lead.

Job Responsibilities

Monitoring the AMI Meter System and identify deficiencies via reports, real time data or outside processes/parties.

Interpreting and analyzing system data to investigate AMI related issues and directing associate level Smart Meter data analyst to determine problem, cause and mitigation.
Diagnosing basic causes of trouble when interruptions occur in meter or network communication issues and utilizing prescribed procedures to determine steps to be taken to restore communication.
Prioritizing and categorizing incidents and initiating corrective action to ensure connectivity and minimize downtime.
Creating trouble tickets and routing to appropriate group for resolution based on exception type.
Liaison with Landis+Gyr for coordinating Seattle City Light staff needed for repairs and maintenance system.
Work closely with Utility Technical Meter Operations and the Meter-Shop to reviewing meter and network device marriage files for accuracy, loading into appropriate systems and notifying appropriate departments of completion.
Validating installation status of smart meters using various reports and systems to verify completion and identifying non-communicating meters and identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Verification of meter provisioning on the AMI network including number of units provisioned, communications verification after installation, and reconciliation of meters installed with the meter installation vendor or utility’s Technical Meter Operations.
Provide operational reports on network and meter incidents, performance and service level agreements.
Analyzing data to validate accuracy in a timely manner. Processing exceptions relating to validation of data from AMI meters.
Assigning attributes to installed Field Area Network devices, loading into the applicable systems and verifying device authentication.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Requires three years of experience in systems, operations, procedures, research or analysis and a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science or a related field (or a combination of education, training or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office environment.

Desired Qualifications - You will be successful if you have the following experience, skills, and abilities:

Experience with enterprise applications and related tools (experience with Oracle based solutions including Utilities Meter Data Management, SQL and Customer Care & Billing is highly desired).
Significant skills and experience working successfully with operations, stakeholders, technical staff, vendors, senior leadership on complex enterprise-wide projects of considerable scope and impact.
Ability to understand complex business processes.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
Must be able to work as part of a team, maintain a good work ethic, be a self-starter.
Must be able to break down overwhelming problems in order to solve manageable subcomponents.
Must be able to learn new technology.

Additional Information

The full salary range for this position is $54.28 to $63.26 per hour.
