Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Senior Logistics Analyst is to manage data, perform performance analysis, identify problems, and develop actionable recommendations that align with logistic management’s goal of optimizing logistics operations using various tools and analysis. The Senior Logistics Analyst leads multiple projects simultaneously and manages vendor and business relationships to ensure smooth logistics operations. This position will identify P&L-based insights and service enhancement opportunities focused on dedicated fleets. Lastly, the Senior Logistics Analyst will assist with designing and leading implementation activities of analytical tools and processes to streamline the transportation planning experience in managing and executing operations.
Essential Duties
•Enhances and optimizes logistics operations by utilizing analytical methods and tools.
•Prioritizes and executes tasks based on general assignments.
•Provides insights and recommendations to upper management while mentoring and guiding Logistics Analysts and Planners in their daily tasks.
•Manages vendor and business relationships to ensure smooth logistics operations.
•Coordinates projects for large initiatives such as distribution and transportation optimization and TMS and WMS implementation.
•Develops and executes scorecards for projects and key organizational metrics to evaluate performance against business cases.
•Forecasts and implements process improvement opportunities associated with assigned projects, conducting analyses that support requested business and systemic enhancements to achieve cost savings for the company.
•Utilizes quantitative skills to create and analyze reports to support business execution, including ad-hoc queries and maintaining reports from various resources.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements
Required
•Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Math, Finance, or a related field
•3 – 5 years of experience in logistics
•Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Visio
•Experience with Oracle JD Edwards or other ERP systems
•Proficiency in data analytics including data mining and report generation
•Knowledge of Manufacturing, Sourcing, Sales, and Logistics processes
•Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment
•Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in an efficient manner
•Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail
•Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with employees on all levels, including executive leadership
Preferred
•Master's degree in a related field
•Advanced skills in Mini-Tab, Access, SQL, and Visual Basic for data acquisition and analysis
•JDE ERP and Crystal reporting experience
•Experience with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
