POSITION SUMMARY
The Refined Product Bulk Accounting department is part of the Controller’s organization, with responsibilities that include accounting for purchases and sales of products, performing inventory reconciliations and supporting various front office and operating areas. The successful candidate will need to be a self-starting and driven individual, with strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a team environment. The successful candidate will help coordinate the Refined Product Bulk Accounting team’s daily activities and responsibilities. The position is expected to assist accountants and business partners in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to day-to-day activities. The successful candidates will work with a variety of stakeholders that could include MPC customers/vendors, traders and schedulers, operations personnel, yield accounting personnel and various other organizations as they complete their roles and responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES* Collects, compiles, analyzes, and verifies financial and other data to ensure the integrity of accounting records. Investigates and resolves discrepancies.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Accounting and advanced degrees preferred.
