PEMEX Deer Park

is seeking a

Senior Industrial Relations Business Partner

to assist front-line supervisors and managers with the daily management of industrial relations matters. Acting as a primary link between management and union representatives, this position fosters constructive dialogue and effective resolution of workplace concerns. The IR Business Partner helps sustain a balanced labor environment by handling grievance investigations, clarifying contract terms, and providing support to the IR Manager in implementing strategic industrial relations initiatives.

To succeed as a Senior Industrial Relations Business Partner, you must have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business, or related field; advanced certifications (e.g., SHRM, PHR, SCP) preferred.

- Minimum 7 years of experience in labor relations, employee relations, or HR, with proven success in unionized environments.

- Solid knowledge of labor laws, contract negotiations, and HR regulations, with proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

- Ability to be on-site at PEMEX Deer Park at least three days per week, travel within the refinery as needed, and qualify for a TWIC card.

As a Senior Industrial Relations Business Partner, you will:

- Provide guidance and support to supervisors and managers on day-to-day industrial relations (IR) and HR matters, ensuring compliance with contracts, policies, and laws.

- Serve as a key liaison with union representatives, addressing grievances, facilitating negotiations, and fostering constructive labor-management relationships.

- Investigate and document workplace issues, including grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters, ensuring accurate records and timely resolution.

- Support strategic IR initiatives by assisting the IR Manager with contract negotiations, pay-related issues, and long- and short-term labor relations strategies.

- Contribute to workforce management and development, including recruitment support, employee engagement, and initiatives to improve morale, productivity, and retention.

PEMEX Deer Park

is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the flexibility to process multiple grades of crude, producing high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products.
