CES Energy Solutions is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Finance team.
The position is based in
Calgary, ABand reports directly to the Manager, Corporate Accounting. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong technical accounting and financial analysis expertise.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform accounting activities related to a newly established complex international tax structure, including preparing monthly consolidations and translations, reconciling intercompany balances, managing intercompany loans and interest calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual audited financial statements, notes to the financial statements, and supporting working papers.
- Support annual audits and quarterly reviews by external auditors.
- Assist in accounting research, issue resolution, and disclosure implications of significant transactions, including preparing technical position papers in accordance with IFRS.
- Prepare and file statutory or regulatory financial related reporting.
- Collaborate with various lines of business and teams to review significant account variances and gather explanations.
- Assist in new ERP implementation by performing solution testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) and training.
- Other duties as assigned.- Designated accountant with at least 2+ years' experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficient in IFRS.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred.
- Quick learner of new digital applications, with experience in Workiva (WDesk), and Power BI, considered an asset.
- Advanced level with MS Excel would be an asset, while strong skills in other Microsoft applications are desirable.
- Experience with multi-entity environments.
- Energetic, positive, and motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication, organization, and time management skills.
