We are seeking a Senior Study Manager to lead a complex mill upgrade at McClean Lake. This role is critical in ensuring the expanded milling capacity is technically robust, economically viable, and fully aligned with the long-term mine production plan, including ore feeds from current and future deposits such as Cigar Lake, McClean Lake, Midwest, and beyond.
You’ll lead the technical and project integration for the mill expansion, aligning inputs across mining, process, operations, and project delivery to develop an optimized and executable plan.

- Provide leadership and coordination for the McClean Lake mill expansion project, ensuring alignment from scope definition to study completion and consistency with long-term mining strategies
- Oversee consultant engagement from scope development to contract award
- Direct and collaborate with external engineering consultants and internal subject matter experts
- Encourage open, collaborative discussions between Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, SHEQ, Regulatory, and corporate teams
- Identify and lead trade-off studies, value engineering, and sensitivity analyses to strengthen the project's investment justification
- Integrate inputs from Mining, Metallurgy and Process Engineering teams to support key decisions (e.g., capacity upgrades, process flowsheets, reliability, and eco-design)
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor study budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Ensure alignment with Orano’s project governance, risk management, and Operational Excellence frameworks
- Prepare and deliver high-quality technical reports, presentations, and study updates tailored to support and engage internal stakeholders and joint venture partners, and diverse audiences – skillfully presenting study outcomes, progress, and technical risks in a clear, solution-focused manner
- Support future transition of the feasibility study into detailed engineering and project execution
- Knowledge of the relationship between mill design and its economic impact on operations

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Metallurgical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan (or eligible for APEGS registration)
- 10+ years of experience in mineral processing and/or mining project development, with direct involvement in feasibility and pre-feasibility studies- Deep expertise in mill and process plant design, including debottlenecking, expansion planning, and integration with mining operations
- Strong project management capabilities with a proven track record of delivering complex studies within a Stage-Gate framework, while aligning operational needs with strategic objectives to develop practical, executable project plans
- Skilled at building collaborative, cross-functional relationships across site operations, technical teams, corporate functions, and external partners
- Effective communicator adept at translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for diverse audiences—from operators to executive leadership
- Experienced in stakeholder engagement, including facilitating discussions across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, SHEQ, Regulatory, and JV partners
- Proficient in developing structured reports, technical briefs, and presentations tailored to internal and external stakeholders, including joint venture communications
- Strong consensus-building skills, able to navigate competing priorities and drive alignment through data-based dialogue and transparent decision-making
- Based in Saskatoon, SK
- Occasional travel to Orano mine and project sites as required
