Alberta Reliability Standards (ARS) are the requirements followed by the AESO and Alberta market participants to provide for the reliable operation of the Alberta interconnected electric system (AIES). The AESO recommends the adoption of ARS that are based on North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) reliability standards, as well as other ARS that amend, supplement, or replace NERC standards.

Reporting to the Manager, Standards & Modelling, you will coordinate and guide cross-functional teams to develop ARS for Alberta’s electricity industry. To succeed in this position, you will require knowledge of high voltage facilities, transmission system operations, and protection & control systems to lead and participate in stakeholder engagements with external industry working groups.
