Senior Electrical Estimator
A rapidly growing engineering and industrial construction firm in Peachtree City is seeking an energetic and motivated professional to join our team as a Senior Estimator in electrical and controls work for its Peachtree City, Georgia office. Estimator will work closely with the design and project management teams.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Lead design-build estimates directing engineers and estimators on scope inclusions and requirements.
•Directing subcontractors and internal team members in the completion of the estimate
•Prepare complete scope estimates based on proposal documentation on a variety of design build projects
•Review, interpret and analyze project documentation including drawings, specifications, data, commercial terms, proposals, etc.
•Develop conceptual estimatingfrom preliminary project parameters
•Manage the development of the preliminary workflow, logistics plan, and schedule with project management input
•Prepare detailed estimates for all self-perform work activities including craft hours, labor, materials, and equipment
•Prepare detailed estimates for subcontracted work activities by completing adequate takeoffs, compilation of vendor quotes and subcontracts and in an organized manner
•Organize and filing of estimate information to standards.
•Formulate all project indirect cost including staffing, project schedules, on-site facilities, and support cost with schedule development.
•Coordinate with stakeholders (developers, architects, subcontractors and Forza operations) throughout the design build process, including attendance at design meetings as a Forza representative during pre-construction services
•Solicit input from field operations to include in final project estimate
•Prepare written proposals for review with Project Manager prior to submission
•Updating estimate status and notifying chief estimator of project status
•Completing the project review with the Project Manager at project kickoff and project closeout
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Experience directing estimators for large scale estimating projects
•Ability to make and influence decisions under tight deadlines and sometimes with incomplete information
•Demonstrate business acumen and the ability to forge partnerships with subcontractors
•Ability to recognize and analyze risk
•Skilled in reading and analyzing electrical and controls schematics, equipment submittals, project specifications, technical information, market, and trade trends
•Senior estimator should be proficient in the use of the following software:
o Microsoft 365 - with a high level of proficiency using Excel
o ConEst or similar estimating software
o Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar takeoff software
o Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software
o Digital management of files
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor's Degree preferred
•Construction Management or Engineering
•Electrical Field Experience if no degree
•5-10 years of electrical construction related experience, design build preferred.
Preferred:
•Electrical License for Georgia
•Significant Project Management experience
•Experience with ConEst estimating software
•References of successful bids won and executed profitably
