Stake Center Locating is looking for a Senior Director of Training to join our team. We focus in underground utility locating, committed to preventing damage and protecting vital infrastructure.
Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Training will lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of training programs for field technicians, supervisors, and operational leadership. This role ensures all training aligns with regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and industry best practices in underground utility locating. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who combines strategic vision with field experience, helping to drive performance, consistency, and a culture of safety across all regions.
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop and execute a company-wide training strategy aligned with business goals, regulatory standards, and damage prevention priorities.
•Partner with operations, safety, and compliance teams to identify skill gaps and address them through scalable training solutions.
•Lead a team of Safety and Training Managers, ensuring consistency and high-quality delivery across all markets.
•Monitor training effectiveness through performance metrics, field audits, and damage reduction data.
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to underground utility locating and incorporate changes into training curriculum.
•Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and safety from the field level up through senior leadership.
Qualifications:
•10+ years of progressive experience in training and development.
•Strong understanding of underground utility locating practices, damage prevention, and 811 processes.
•Proven success in developing and scaling training programs in a field-service or construction-related environment.
•Experience with OSHA, NULCA standards, and state-specific utility regulations.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
•Ability to travel regularly to field offices and job sites across the U.S.
•Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Safety, or related field (Master’s preferred).
