POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a visionary and execution-driven Head of Grid & Energy Service Offering and Business Development to lead and grow our integrated energy service business across front-of-the-meter (FTM) and behind-the-meter (BTM) markets. This role will drive the strategic development and commercialization of AI-enabled energy management software, EPC solutions, financing structures, and deployment of renewable energy assets—including solar, battery storage, hydro, and microgrids.
The successful candidate will leverage Hanwha’s vertically integrated capabilities—from manufacturing to software to project execution—to build differentiated offerings that optimize energy performance and create long-term customer value.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Offering Strategy & Development
•Define and lead the development of customer-centric energy service offerings, combining energy management software, solar, ESS, hydro, and microgrid systems.
•Integrate FTM and BTM software platforms to support co-optimization, demand charge reduction, resiliency, and market participation (e.g., VPP, DR, ancillary services).
•Collaborate with engineering, software, EPC, and finance teams to create modular offerings for C&I, utility, and government customers.
2. Commercialization & Business Development
•Identify and prioritize high-value market segments (e.g., data centers, municipal utilities, campus microgrids, community energy).
•Lead go-to-market strategy, strategic partnerships, and sales enablement across domestic and international markets.
•Structure and lead commercial proposals with performance-based contracts, energy savings guarantees, and long-term service agreements.
3. Ecosystem & Partnership Management
•Cultivate strategic alliances with grid operators, technology vendors, utilities, and policy stakeholders.
•Lead sourcing and integration of third-party software, financing, and hardware where needed to complement Hanwha’s offerings.
4. Financial Modeling & Value Proposition
•Develop total cost of ownership models, energy savings calculations, and customer ROI frameworks.
•Work with finance teams to offer tailored energy-as-a-service (EaaS) and CapEx/OpEx-neutral business models.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership
•Partner with Hanwha’s global software, finance, EPC, and manufacturing divisions to ensure offering alignment and execution readiness.
•Act as the voice of the customer to guide continuous improvement of service delivery, software roadmap, and asset lifecycle optimization.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Business, or related field; MBA or Master’s in Energy preferred.
•Experience: 15+ years in energy services, distributed energy systems, or utility-scale project development; minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing integrated energy solution portfolios.
•+ Strong understanding of DERMS, VPPs, and EMS software for BTM and FTM applications.
+ Familiarity with solar PV, battery storage, hydro, and microgrid control systems.
+ Knowledge of utility interconnection, energy markets, and grid services.
•+ Proven track record of structuring and closing complex energy service deals.
+ Experience designing energy-as-a-service and performance-based offerings.
+ Ability to drive strategy through execution across matrixed organizations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Deep familiarity with North American grid regulations and programs including CAISO, NYISO, ERCOT, PJM, ISO-NE.
•Experience with commercial project financing, including tax equity, lease, PPA, and incentive monetization.
•Exposure to international markets and transactive energy systems.
