The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from:
- $168,000 - $210,000 (Vestal, NY; Oneonta, NY; Binghamton, NY; Mechanicville, NY)
- $185,000 - $231,000 (Brewster, NY)
Full ownership of distribution operations, guaranteeing full integration of engineering, design, scheduling, stores and execution (including vegetation execution). Oversees the activities of the Electric Distribution operations, provides leadership and direction to achieve goals and implement change. Responsibilities include safety, reliability, customer satisfaction, cost-effective resource allocation, staff selection and development, process improvement and oversight, major project management and daily field operations activities. Coordinates and participates in problem- resolution and emergency response with other functions and subject matter experts. Ensures administrative matters such as payroll, budgets, performance reviews, safety, scheduling, and work management reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Ensures the use of Operational dashboards data for optimum decision-making in the department. Requires contact with the public, contractors, local government agencies and officials, other utilities, and the media. Requires extensive travel throughout the regions.
- Develops and implements annual business plan for Electric Distribution including O&M and Capital budgets. Monitors ongoing progress and reallocates resources as necessary to ensure goal achievement (Safety, Reliability, and Customer Service).
- Oversee and evaluate work processes. Identifies and implements process improvements. Creates a climate of innovation, in which ideas for process improvement are continually encouraged from within the organization.
- Oversees departments initiatives, the preparation of budgets and the tracking, cost control, and reporting of actual O&M and capital expenditures.
- Responsible for employee goals and objectives while ensuring alignment with department and corporate goals.
- Reviews reports that document performance in meeting department, corporate, or regulatory goals and requirements.
- Represents the company on various teams or committees regarding state, regional or national issues. Acts as liaison for the Company with customers and with state and municipal agencies to coordinate efforts.
- Responsible for leading the coordination between Manager Distribution Operations (field work), Planning & Engineering team (field planning & scheduling) and Stores team (material/logistics).
- Responsible for coordinating the Vegetation Execution as well as to contribute to an efficient plan of allocating vegetation resources for the operating company.
- Reinforces the use of data analysis within the teams for optimum decision making.
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or related field experience, with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience.
- Thorough knowledge of company, federal and state policies and procedures.
