Position Summary

The Senior Data Engineer will join the Data Platforms Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Team within the Midstream IT Solution Delivery organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design and build the spatial foundations necessary to digitally transform MPC’s Refining and Midstream operations through geospatial intelligence. This technical data engineer will play a pivotal role in understanding, harnessing, and applying strong analysis, modeling, management, integration, and quality across our spatial data technology. The candidate will reside on a platform team utilizing Agile methodologies and act as an innovative specialist in the turning of raw location-based information into actionable insights. Additionally, this position works closely with the MPC Refining and Midstream IT product lines, business technology partners, software vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver sophisticated capabilities, analytics, and mapping solutions dependent upon geographically referenced data.

This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Education and Experience

+ Strong expertise with industry standard models (such as ESRI’s Utility Network, PODS, or UPDM) and data programming skills (such as Python, ESRI JavaScript API, Experience Builder, REST API, and SQL). + Deep knowledge of ESRI products Portal, ArcGIS Server, SDE, GeoEvent Server, Image Server, Field Maps, Survey123, and other mobile applications. + Experience developing and supporting ETL operations between GIS applications/database using FME Desktop or Server. + Experience developing custom GIS solutions and GIS mobile applications + Experiencing operating an enterprise GIS within Azure cloud environments.

Skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
