Job OverviewThis position will support all the data reporting requests of our leadership team within WCSA. The leadership team is tasked with implementing strategic initiatives that help improve the business efficiency and customer experience across the entire organization. The daily and monthly reports that this position generates and maintains will be critical in our decision-making process. The ideal candidate will have advanced Excel skills, an analytical mindset, great attention to detail, and be comfortable dealing with high amounts of ambiguity.
· Use data mining to extract information and identify patterns or trends.
· Blend data from multiple systems to prepare reports for upper leadership and management.
· Publish monthly and ad-hoc reports for leadership team.
· Build reports and reconcile to system data.
· Perform statistical analysis of data; monitor data quality.
· Review water meter reading versus history to identify water meters that are programmed wrong or not reading correctly. Follow up by working in the field going to each meter and verifying the program is correct or changing out the meter.
· Review zero read reports for each route read and compare to past reading to determine issues with billing. Follow up by working in the field going to each meter and verifying the program is correct or changing out the meter.
· Support implementation of Temetra software for customer interface, customer training and interface with supplier. Ability to take calls from customers and support setting up their customer portal plus explaining to the customer how to view and understand the information.
· Analyze meter reading by route for billing accuracy and evaluate billing to ensure revenue is correct.
· Review monthly cell phone, land lines, and internet bills for accuracy and requirements.
· Track monthly sewer gallons and dollars billed to WCSA plus payments to BVU and Abingdon. Note all irregularities follow up verifying meters in the field and working with department heads.
· Track monthly water payments and revenue to other counties. Payments to Town of Saltville, Smyth County, and all others.
· Review and/or reconcile monthly meter reading data versus total gallons billed in Impresa to verify that the data is moving from Temetra to Impresa correctly each month.
· Support Town of Abingdon sewer billing. Work with Customer Service to provide water meter usage to Town of Abingdon in support of their sewer billing. Develop reports and/or standard work to improve the process.
· Responsible to have our internal district meters read weekly and track the consumption by distribution district. Note all irregularities follow up verifying meters in the field and working with department heads.
· Responsible for tracking non-revenue water, including gallons flushed at each flushing point and process water used at our plants. Non-Revenue water – track monthly – develop action plans working with department managers to reduce non-revenue water.
· 2 years of related experience in a reporting role
· Bachelor’s Degree (accredited school) with emphasis in: Information Technology, Mathematics, Management Information System (MIS), Statistics, or Business Administration
· Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
· Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
· Solid understanding of data sources, data organization and storage
· Knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques
