Senior Construction Estimator - High End Residential Remodels (5+ Years)

Role:

Houck Construction Inc is hiring for a full-time Construction Estimator with 5+ years of experience estimating high end residential construction projects, specifically producing estimates from scope and projects with no plans.

The Estimator will be responsible for producing accurate, comprehensive, and clear estimates for residential remodel and ground up build projects, both with and without plans/drawings. Final estimates will include cost of materials, equipment, and labor necessary for the construction of a project and entirely capture scopes of work. The estimator also sources and negotiates bids for trades involved and maintains relationships with various subcontractors. The ideal candidate will be thorough, organized, have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, and an understanding for design and aesthetic.

Responsibilities:

Project WITHOUT Plans:

· Attend job walks, document comprehensive scope of work, and use scope to develop reasonable estimate for project.

· Collaborate with clients, Houck team, subcontractors, and vendors to determine accurate specifications for projects and confirm client desired materials and finishes, while mindful of client’s budget.

Project WITH Plans:

· Review plans and specification requirements for construction projects to ensure completeness and accuracy and to detect errors and omissions.

· Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, clients, and internal staff to determine accurate specifications for projects.

· Manage subcontractor RFI’s, drawing submittals & project addendums.
