POSITION SUMMARY:

Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opportunity for a Senior Commercial Sourcing Advisor! This position will be based out of Findlay Ohio or Canonsburg PA. The Commercial Sourcing Advisor’s primary responsibility is to support the development, management, and execution of Engineering Projects bid packages, supplier / contractor selection and strategic sourcing initiatives. This is done by serving in a commercial advisory role to minimize risk in supply chain processes that support Project Managers/Engineers in the development of projects. This includes recognizing appropriate contracting strategies, developing awareness of associated project risks, and qualifying contractors to assure appropriate criteria are adequately addressed. The successful candidate should be a self-starter, able to conduct market analysis, develop bid packages, analyze proposals using a total cost of ownership methodology, establish strategic business relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contract agreements as well as Terms and Conditions favorable to the company, identify and validate cost savings opportunities The ideal candidate would be able to thrive in a dynamic environment where needs are both planned and unplanned. The Midstream segment which this role supports is within the Capital Projects Team covering Facility Engineering, Compression, Storage & logistics and Line Pipe Construction within MPLX, MPC’s sponsored master limited partnership. MPLX transports, stores, distributes and markets crude oil and refined products via refining logistics assets, pipelines, terminals, towboats, and barges; gather, process and transport natural gas; and gather, transport, fractionate, store and market natural gas liquids.
