Job Summary
Provide technical support in the Nuclear Strategic Projects Balance of Plant department for the
Salem
Power Uprate Project
. The successful candidate will perform the duties as a Civil/Structural Design Engineer for the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2. The engineer is responsible for designing and implementing civil and structural power uprate modifications.
Job Responsibilities
•Provide technical leadership to ensure plant modifications and project activities comply with structural engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
•Interface with Project Manager, contractors and engineering staff to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
•Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.
•Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.
•Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Balance of Plant Engineering Manager.
•Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required:
•BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering / Technical degree.
•Minimum of 10+ years of experience in civil engineering
•Availability for shift work during installation.
•Must meet nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
•Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
•A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this job. Must provide appropriate documentation to meet access requirements on the date of hire.
Desired:
•Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)
•Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualifications
•Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
