About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Primary Responsibilities:
•Preparing and distributing tender documentation and/or purchase orders as the need arises.
•Overseeing the evaluation of offers and ensuring orders align with specifications.
•Ensuring timely delivery by coordinating with logistics companies.
•Identifying cost-effective procurement strategies without compromising quality.
•Building strong supplier relationships to maximize business contributions.
•End to end management of sourcing events from requisition to delivery.
•Develop and foster successful, long-term business relationships and ongoing process improvements with key suppliers.
•Review non-contracted purchases to identify opportunities for standardization, contracting and cost reduction.
•Responsible for assisting and identifying opportunities for improvement, participating in procedural
•projects within supply chain team; support implementation of the projects.
•Lead negotiations for high impact commodities, providing guidance on negotiations, strategy, and negotiation planning, as well as developing a commodity strategy.
•Attend any site meetings in person or remotely that involve daily procurement organization.
•Any other duties/projects/assignment as discussed with the Department Head.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
•5-8 years of Procurement experience gained in a mining industry or operations or engineering focused environment.
•Degree qualified preferred with a focus on Supply Chain Management; ASCM certified (CPIM, CSCP) equivalent an asset.
•Mining industry experience desired.
•Experience with Category Management, sourcing & contracting with Total Cost Ownership approach preferred.
•Proficient with SAP MM module.
•Advanced numerical, analytical and administrative skills; including advanced MS Office skills with a focus on MS Excel.
•Self-starter who can anticipate needs and work independently with minimal supervision.
•Excellent organizational and communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external stakeholders
•Ability to work with various levels of the organization.
•Bilingualism is considered an asset.
Rotation:
•Bunkhouse and Kitchen access are provided while onsite.
•Flights are available from Toronto, Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Rouyn, QC.
•Travel allowance depending on location
